HOPE AND LIGHTS COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS
Hope is a heavy word and an emotion a lot of people don't have. My name is Oluwafunke Ajoba, and I am the Founder of Echoes Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to serving humanity through free therapy sessions, skill acquisition, accountability, and mentorship programs. What we hope for is a future where rehabilitation and community centers exist to help individuals align themselves with a purpose beyond their pain. Even as I write this, I write it in hope and faith, but mostly in understanding of what is broken in our society. Often, I hear people talk about humanity and how it seems to be fading. And sadly, all they say is true. As you go through your day, you find more brokenness around you. Some cannot be seen; others are painfully visible. People from broken homes, individuals who can barely fend for themselves, hearts that are shattered, and lives lived in fear and uncertainty. It goes on and on, getting darker and heavier.
